These cakes are only two layers of about 1 inch height. You will need about 2-2.5 cups to do a basic covering of frosting for any of these 6 inch cakes. Instant Pot Cheesecakes are a no fail for me. I find the best way to make small cheesecakes like the Irish cream cheesecake shown above is in my Instant Pot. Small cheesecakes are another favorite! You just need a six inch springform pan. (It's not a complete disaster because you can always cut off the dome and eat those cake scraps!) Higher temperatures combined with convection often lead to domed cakes. I can't say exactly how much longer, you just have to keep an eye on it after 20 minutes and do the toothpick test.Īlso, do not use a convection setting for these small cakes especially if you like nice flat rounds. If you know your oven runs warm, I would bake at 325F for longer. Unless otherwise noted, most 6 inch cakes will bake at 350F for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. See my post on how to prepare cake pans for more complete tips. In general, you should always butter and flour your pans before baking. Easy storage is another reason to love this size. That also usually fits just perfectly in my largest rectangular Rubbermaid plastic container. When two baked cakes are stacked together with frosting, you will get a cake that is about 3 inches tall for most of these recipes. These cake tins are 6 inches wide and 2 inches tall. I own three of them in this size but most of the time, I'm just baking with two. In my quest to make small cake recipes, I found these awesome 6 inch cake pans from Fat Daddio. I stopped making 8 inch cakes when I discovered that the 6 inch cake recipes work perfectly for us. That’s way too much cake to make without having a party of say 20 people or more! Subgrade preparations, base application and thickness, as well as asphalt thickness are extremely important in ensuring you are getting a good quality pavement with a long life. If your driveway or parking lot is not paved to the proper thickness, your asphalt will likely begin to deteriorate prematurely. For a heavy-duty parking lot with an aggregate base, it is recommended to install a 6” thick hot mix asphalt layer on a 3” aggregate base layer.For a light-duty parking lot with an aggregate base, a hot mix asphalt layer of 3” thick on a 6” aggregate base is recommended.For full-depth heavy-duty commercial lots, it is recommended to apply a layer about 7.5” thick of hot mix asphalt on the subgrade.For a full-depth light-duty commercial lot, it is recommended that a compacted layer about 4” thick of hot mix asphalt be applied on the subgrade.For heavy duty traffic like, trucks, loading docks, or roadways, we recommend a 2” finish layer on top of the 2” binder for a total of 4”.The finish course of a parking lot, following the binder layer, should be a smaller and smoother stone at 1.5” thick for a total of 3”.Asphalt driveways need to be a minimum of 2” thick and are typically 3” (compacted).For heavy duty traffic like, trucks, loading docks, or roadways, we recommend a 2” binder layer.The first binder layer of 1.5” would be a thicker stone. On top of the base, we typically recommend applying two 1.5” layers of asphalt.For standard commercial jobs, the dense-graded aggregate layer is typically about 8” thick.The thickness of a parking lot depends heavily on the amount and type of traffic of that specific lot.
